Migrated My Legend Vinyl from WordPress to Shopify, recreating the existing website's look and feel using the free Dawn theme. Independently handled the implementation from setup to deployment, including custom storefront layouts, conversion-focused product templates, and Judge.me review integration.

The Challenge
The client wanted to migrate from WordPress to Shopify without purchasing a premium theme or changing the existing website's visual identity. The challenge was to recreate the established design using Shopify's free Dawn theme while supporting different product-page layouts for different product groups.
The client also required conversion-focused product pages inspired by competitor examples and reference designs. Another key requirement was to integrate authentic product reviews from the client's Amazon review source into the Shopify storefront through Judge.me, rather than relying on manually written testimonials.
The Approach
I selected Shopify's free Dawn theme as the foundation and used the existing WordPress website as the primary visual reference. I approached the migration as a design recreation and implementation project, focusing on preserving the original layout, branding, product presentation, and overall shopping experience.
For the product pages, I studied the client's competitor references and supplied design direction to identify relevant conversion-focused elements. I planned separate product templates to accommodate the client's specific requirements for selected products while retaining a different layout for the remaining catalog.
I also evaluated the review integration requirements and implemented Judge.me to support the display of authentic product reviews on the Shopify store.
The Solution
I built the Shopify storefront around the free Dawn theme, recreating the original website's visual design without relying on a paid theme.
The implementation covered the main storefront layout, product presentation, navigation, and supporting content sections. I created a dedicated conversion-focused product-page layout for selected products, incorporating the client's reference designs and competitor-inspired elements such as product benefits, delivery information, trust signals, review presentation, and supporting product content.
A separate product template was maintained for other products, allowing the store to accommodate different presentation requirements across the catalog.
I also integrated Judge.me for product reviews, addressing the client's requirement to display genuine review content sourced from Amazon through the supported review import or synchronization process.
The Outcome
The project delivered a Shopify storefront built on the free Dawn theme, preserving the existing website's visual direction while moving the store to the client's preferred e-commerce platform.
The implementation included differentiated product-page templates, a conversion-focused product experience for selected products, and Judge.me review integration. I handled the project independently from initial setup through deployment, delivering the migration and customization work without requiring a paid Shopify theme.
The final implementation addressed the client's platform migration, design continuity, product presentation, and review integration requirements. No unverified conversion-rate or revenue improvements are claimed.
